3 Types of Ants That Can Invade Your Home

If you have ever had an ant problem, you know how the tiny little critters can show up overnight and then never go away. No matter how hard you battle the infestation, how deeply you clean your home, or how often you set out ant traps, the pesky pests just keep coming back. One problem in trying to remove the tiny terrors from your living space is that there is more than one type of ant, and there are different methods to their successful removal.

Carpenter Ants

Carpenter ants are one of the most tenacious of all ant species, and they often leave homeowners scratching their heads and wondering how to get rid of ants Fort Myers FL. This half-inch, blackish species is known for tearing through wood and can do significant damage to a home after building a nest in your foundation.

Ghost Ants

These very tiny ants are almost milky-white in appearance, and barely one-sixteenth of an inch long. They have a love for sweets and can rip into packages easily with their sharp jaws. Living with multiple queens within one colony, the nests can easily divide and expand their infestation in a couple of weeks.

Pharaoh Ants

Ranging in color from red to yellow, this one-sixteenth inch long pests has a black marking that covers their abdomen. Their nests are difficult to eliminate and often require more than one pest control treatment by a professional team to remove them. This little ant thrives on fats, oils, and sweets and has a large impact on the environment.
